Mean IOP: COMBIGAN® after timolol therapy

Timolol and other beta-blockers are indicated for the first-line treatment of elevated IOP in patients with ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma.

Data from a 12-week, randomized, multicenter, double-masked, parallel-group study involving 371 patients with glaucoma or ocular hypertension who had inadequate IOP control after ≥ 3 weeks of monotherapy. Washout of any previous IOP-lowering therapies was performed concurrently with timolol monotherapy. Patients were then treated with fixed-combination brimonidine tartrate 0.2%/timolol 0.5% BID (n = 188) or concomitant brimonidine tartrate 0.2% BID and timolol 0.5% BID (n = 183). Results presented here are from the subgroup of patients in the intent-to-treat population whose previous medication was a beta-blocker.
